Stand
Out Promotions: Could you please introduce
yourself and where you are from
Mandi Leigh:
My name is Mandi Leigh, and I was born in CA, grew up in Arizona, then
headed back West to L.A.!
SOP: Have you had any formal training
or a musical background?
ML: I’ve had formal dance
training, hip hop, jazz and salsa. No formal vocal training aside from warm
up and breathing techniques for tour.
SOP::
Hardest part about the music industry?
ML:
Being away from those I love for months at a time. However, with that said although
it may be a hard sacrifice I would never give up what I am doing. I love this
industry.
SOP::
Do you have a favorite song to sing live and why?
ML:‘Tears
In A Bottle’, it’s emotional and it makes people listen. It’s
heartfelt and relatable.
SOP:
What would you say your claim to fame has been?
ML:Being
a part of the ‘Utopian Society’ soundtrack with Warner Bros. has
opened SO many doors for me. It’s been an AMAZING opportunity. I’m
on iTunes now! And on the radio regularly!
SOP:
Where do you draw your inspiration from to write your lyrics?
ML:Life.
Quiet moments alone where I reflect on things that have happened in my life.
SOP::
What has been your proudest moment as a performer?
ML:
Seeing my single on iTunes! Or opening for Nina Sky, the crowds were HUGE!
SOP:
What was it like being apart of 'The Utopian Society' soundtrack?
ML:
Like I stated above, I loved it! It’s been such an amazing journey so
far. We are about to tour for three months nationwide to support the film. I’m
so excited to be able to meet fans all around the country!
SOP:
You've opened up for some big names in the the industry and toured internationally.
What has been your favorite place and person you've toured with?
ML:
Favorite place I’ve been would either have to be Aruba or St. Thomas.
BEAUTIFUL places and great memories of snorkeling and shopping, eating great
food and then getting to do what I love, performing, all night. Favorite person
I’ve worked with would have to be my former music director James Higgins.
He brought out such a confidence in me as a performer.
SOP:There
are many artists all over trying to make it. What do you think makes you different
from everyone else out there, and all the artists to come?
ML:
I stay true to me. Always have, always will. I’ve passed up some “great
opportunities” as some would call them, so that I never compromised who
I am, and I think that’s rare in the industry these days.
SOP:
Have you ever considered going on American Idol? & what are your thoughts
on it?
ML:
I’ve been asked many times to be a part of that show, but I chose to do
it the old fashion way I guess ;)
SOP:Could
you tell us about your upcoming/current projects..
ML:
I am currently doing my press tour through the west. Just finished an episode
of “The Release Party” in L.A. that will air later this year from
the people who brought you “Rock Of Love”. They covered my single
release. I am also doing radio spots throughout Arizona at the moment, I’ll
be appearing on 106.7 FMs night show from 8-11PM on June 16th, and then the
U.S. tour starts in July for ‘No Longer In Love’ and ‘The
Utopian Society’, along with our new reality show on tour.
SOP:Would
you like to take this time to say anything to your fans?
ML:

lines at the stations have been busy with you guys calling in! We LOVE that!!
