Permenent Ink
Permanent
Ink: Nice to meet you, first question, when will us fans be able to hear more
of your music?
MandiLeigh: Within the month there will be a few song clips from the upcoming
album added. And the album is almost halfway done.. Also, at the upcoming shows
I am doing, I perform the new songs in my set.
PI: that's
awesome, very cool, where are you from
MandiLeigh: I'm very excited for the fans to hear the new material :-) Raised
in AZ, but living in L.A.
PI: oh cool,
is L.A an exciting city?
MandiLeigh: I love it. When I'm not working though, I usually hang out away
from L.A., where its not as busy. :-)
PI: Cool
what kind of things do you do for fun, besides singing or dancing?
MandiLeigh: I am addicted to shopping. My sister and I go shopping on almost
every day off I have. haha. And I love the spa.
PI: if you
could collaborate with anyone dead or alive who would it be
MandiLeigh: There are so many talented artists out there.. But my top three
would have to be Craig David on a vocal collaboration, Missy Elliott on producing,
and John Mayer on songwriting.
PI: i love
john mayer :-)
MandiLeigh: He's amazing.
PI: are
you planning to tour anytime soon?
MandiLeigh: There are talks of a tour, but its in the early, early stages. Right
now I am working on the album, and shows in L.A.
PI: what
kind of music do you sing?
MandiLeigh: The album is diverse. It's a pop album with rock & r/b influences.
PI: sounds
exciting, can't wait to hear it
MandiLeigh: Thank you :-)
PI: how
long have you been in the music business?
MandiLeigh: I have been singing since I was three. But professionally working
with people in the business, 4 and half years.
PI: What
other artists do you look up to and why?
MandiLeigh: Artists like Jennifer Lopez and Brandy, who have conquered all avenues
of the industry.. they are such powerful women. Craig David for his drive, and
his vocal ability. And John Mayer for his writing talent. He inspires me.
PI: very
nice, has anyone ever compared you to britney spears? or any other singers?
MandiLeigh: I think you always get compared to someone out there. But yes, I
have been compared to other female pop artists. I find it flattering, because
they are out there, doing there thing, and succeeding.
PI: yeah
i would be flattered too
MandiLeigh: We all bring our own thing to the table though ;)
PI: yep
everybody has their own style. If you were to win an award such as a VMA or
AMA etc, who would you thank?
MandiLeigh: I love that question :-) Very original.. First and foremost, God.
My mother and sister for being my number one supporters the whole way. My company
for believing in me and helping me succeed. And anyone else that touched my
life along the way. I'd probably just go with the moment.. :-)
PI: very
nice, we're gonna ask a few random questions
MandiLeigh: alright :-) random is always fun
PI: would
you date a guy that's good looking but you know nothing about and has a bad
personality or would you rather date a guy thetas not good looking but you know
a lot about him and has a good personality and why
MandiLeigh: Oh my. Well, a good personality is a must because it wouldn't be
much fun to be around someone that didn't have one. But I think to be with someone
that way, you need to be attracted to him. But if I had to choose, definitely
the one with a good personality :-)
PI: good
choice, what's your favorite food and drink?
MandiLeigh: Food.. Would be anything with avocados. Or just an avocado :-) haha.
And drink.. water or diet coke.
PI: I've
never had an avocado, what is it haha
MandiLeigh: haha.. its a California thing I think. lol. It's a vegetable like
fruit. It's green and what you use to make guacamole. Only I don't like guacamole,
because of the seasonings. lol
PI: what
is your favorite song to sing .. either a song by you or a song by someone else
MandiLeigh: By me, probably a ballad I am recording called 'Going Away'. By
someone else, anything upbeat and fun.. right now I am listening to a lot of
Lucy Woodward and Britney's new album. :-) And the classic song I always sing,
Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
PI: what's
your favorite song on Britneys new album?
MandiLeigh: Toxic or Everytime
PI: so what
is your favorite song at the moment?
MandiLeigh: Probably Bigger Than My Body by John Mayer or The Voice Within by
Christina Aguilera.
PI: great
songs, and my last question, what would you like to tell the fans about anything
you have coming up
MandiLeigh: I have a show at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood on the 30th..
I would love to see you guys there! Also all new show and appearance info will
be at www.MandiLeigh.com.The new promo photos will also be up within the month.
:-) And thank them for all their support.
