Here we are with Mandi Leigh, for our exclusive interview with Chasing Fame Magazine. How are you doing Mandi?
Great, thank you.

Why don't you tell the readers a little bit about yourself?
I am a recording artist and actress from Valencia, CA. I am currently recording my debut album in L.A. and Nashville, and am getting ready for a small west coast tour this spring and summer.

What have you been busy with lately?
Lately, I have been in rehearsals with my dancers for our upcoming shows in California and Arizona, as well as working a lot on the album. We are in the process of writing the next tracks. I'm also getting ready to shoot a film this summer.

Do you plan on touring after your album is out?
I actually am touring a bit now, through spring and summer. But hope to tour the U.S. fully when it's released.

I understand that you write your own lyrics. Do you have a special place that you go to relax and write?
I actually just got a place of my very own, it's so quiet. It's my own space. So I've been able to just sit and write a lot when I am not rehearsing.

Who are your musical influences?
Lyrically, musicians like John Mayer. I would love to be as lyrically gifted as he. He is amazing. As far as music, I love hip hop beats. Missy is up there on my list of favorite producers.

Do you try to work in their music into your own?
My producers and I try to do things that are fresh and new. At the same time try to stay with what's hot and out there today. You know, keep up. haha.

What is the most annoying question you are asked during an interview?
This one. haha

Answer that question.
haha.. probably the ones that get asked every day. They don't "annoy" me persay. Sometimes you just feel like your repeating yourself.

What kinds of support do you have behind you with your career?
Starting with home, I have a wonderful family who has been behind me from day one. I am so blessed to have them. I have a great circle of friends who are always there for me, as well as wonderful producers and promoters that are doin' their thang. :)

I've read your other interviews, and it seems that "Like A Queen" is your favorite song off of your album. What's your least favorite?
Like A Queen is hot. It's got a raw sound to it. My favorites change though. At the moment I am having so much fun with 'Step It Up'. My new choreographers are doing such wonderful things with the shows. I hope I don't have a least favorite on my album, because I try to really love all the work that I am putting out there.

What's your opinion on American Idol? Do you think that it can actually be that easy to become an overnight success?
On AI, I have no comment. haha. And as for becoming a success overnight? No. I don't think anyone in this business was an overnight success. I think everyone has put in their time, and their hard work.

What's one thing that you can't stand?
L.A. traffic. :)

Fan experiences are sometimes weird. Was there a time that you wanted them to come up to you?
I don't really understand that question. Whenever I am approached by fans, it's appreciated. :)

What kind of car do you drive?
Honda Civic. Yeah baby!

Lastly, what would you like to say to your fans before we go?
Thank you guys so much for your support. I can't wait for you to hear the full album! Make sure you check out MandiLeigh.com to hear what we have for you. I'd also love to see to you at the shows!
